week 4

team:

In the 4th week of our project, we have been through 3 different prototypes and they opened a clear direction that we want to make our game. These prototypes helped us to understand and finalize our project goals. The 3rd prototype really opened up our ideas and the key goal that we wanted to present and show. This prototype nature, helped us to understand what environment and atmosphere should our game have. This prototype really put us in the right direction on how we should improve on our project goals and helped to portray our idea much clearer. During the playtest we inputted key mechanics into the game. Such as we were creating a random map generator so that the game's road maps would be spawned every time the game is played so that the game area is randomly spawned. It creates a sense of unpredictability which makes the game even more interesting for the player. The playtest overall was pretty positive that most playtesters liked the sense of randomly spawning maps and that it spawned different layouts every time the game was played.

jamie:

I fixed some issues with the map generation, allowing it to be more optimized, and also spawn less things on the road, although sometimes a rock of tree spawns on it, this is being used to test out obstacles in the game, so a sort of helpful bug for now. I managed to fix this by editing where the assets can spawn on the decor plane around the roads.

andrea:

I made some more biomes for our game, which included snow and desert. I made prefabs for the trees and rocks, then added them to the decor of the roads so that they would randomly spawn on the map.
